Thanksgiving closures include Friday for some

Some offices throughout El Dorado County will be closed, on Thursday, Nov. 28, due to Thanksgiving, a state and federal holiday. Some will also be closed on Friday, Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving. Here’s a look at what local residents may expect:

All schools in El Dorado County will be closed both Thursday, Nov. 28, and Friday, Nov. 29.

The offices of the police and fire departments will be closed on both Nov. 28 and Nov. 29. For emergency calls, dial 911. For non-emergency police calls, call 530-642-5280. For non-emergency fire and medical calls, call 530-647-5250.

All branches of the post office will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28. There will be no mail delivery.

El Dorado Transit buses will not run on Thursday, Nov.28, or on Friday, Nov. 29.

All Placerville city offices will be closed on Nov. 28 and on Nov. 29.

County offices will be closed both Nov. 28 and 29, including all branches of the county library. County courts will be closed on both days as well.

El Dorado Disposal Service reports that trash pickup will continue as regularly scheduled. The office and transfer station will be closed for Thanksgiving on Nov. 28.

El Dorado Irrigation District offices will be closed on both Nov. 28 and Nov. 29.

Banks will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 28. However, some banks have branches in local supermarkets, and these may remain open. Check with your branch.

The offices of the Mountain Democrat will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 28.
