According to C. L. Raffety, treasurer and tax collector, El Dorado County’s Auction of Tax Defaulted Property is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 2, at 1:30 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors Board Room (Building A) at 330 Fair Lane, Placerville.
Prominent on the list of properties up for bid this year are the approximate 300 time shares located in South Lake Tahoe and 30 land parcels throughout El Dorado County. Time shares often sell at auction for $1,000 and up. Opening auction prices for land parcels are scheduled to be offered at $800 and up.
A complete list of parcels and opening bid prices can be viewed on the Internet at edcgov.us/taxcollector (click on “Public Auction Tax Sale”). Also available on the same Website are the rules of the sale and the registration form.
Registration for the auction starts at 11 a.m. Participants can fill in the registration form at the auction site on the day of the sale or they can complete the registration forms anytime in the comfort of their home or office by accessing the form on-line.
Some parcels have bond obligations associated with them. Bidders are encouraged to investigate and thoroughly research the attributes (and detriments) of all properties before bidding.
Interested bidders may call the Tax Collector’s Office at 530-621-5800 should there be any questions concerning the upcoming tax sale.
