Tucker and Neibauer elected to CPCSD

The Cameron Park Community Services District will welcome a returning board member as well as a new one as a result of Tuesday’s election.

Vicky Neibauer was the top vote getter in Tuesday’s election receiving 43.4 percent of the vote. Neibauer is a senior budget analyst for Sacramento County and will be serving on the board for the first time.

“It’s very exciting,” said Neibauer. “I want to thank the Cameron Park community for their support and confidence. It’s a great community and I really appreciate this opportunity.” Saying she hoped people would continue to be actively involved, she encouraged Cameron Park residents to come to meetings and call or email board members with their input.

In second place was incumbent Sean Tucker with 31 percent of the vote. Tucker is a manager with Placer Title Company. This will be his first term as an elected official. He has been serving as an appointed board member since June of 2011 when he took the place of another director who resigned. Tucker also serves as Chairperson of the Fire & Emergency Services Committee and the CC&R Committee.

Tucker said he will continue to focus on the budget and is grateful for the support he received from the community. “I think Joe and Vicky ran great campaigns and I congratulate Vicky on her election,” he said.

Newcomer Joe Thuesen came in third with 25 percent of the vote. He noted that ”Sean and Vicky did a fantastic job campaigning and I wish them luck.”

Shiva Frentzen, President of the board, said, “I am very pleased with the election outcome for the CPCSD and look forward to the new board.  We should be able to hit the ground running with Sean and Vicky.  Sean has served on the board for over a year so he is familiar with all the district issues.  Vicky has been involved with the community and her strong financial background will be an asset to our board.”

I want to thank each and every voter in CP for casting their vote for Vicky Neibauer. I checked the elections website today and they have updated the numbers. Vicky received the most votes, 4,718 to be exact, which equate to 43.17% of the total votes. This is a huge win for Vicky and she earned it.Vicky did not have a campaign committee nor did she have special interest money behind her. What she had was her husband, her son, daughter and her daughter's boyfriend walking the neighborhoods and talking to the residents. Vicky is exactly what the CP board needs, someone who has the experience with budgets and will display professionalism. I hope this sends a message to the male members of the board that votes for a deficit spending budget. In two years you can be sure that you will not be voted into office again.
