Two arrested after 34-mile chase

34 mile pursuit

An El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Detail attempted to stop an allegedly stolen motorcycle in the Quick Stop Market area at 615 Pleasant Valley Road in Diamond Springs but instead was led on a 34-mile chase.

The motorcycle was being driven by Brandon Remy, 44, of Pollock Pines, who was accompanied by Karen White, 24, of Placerville, a press release stated. Remy, instead of pulling over, began evading deputies.

Remy was known the deputies as he had been released from jail five months prior and a warrant had been issued for his alleged parole violation.

White was allegedly seen throwing an item from the motorcycle, the press release stated. Deputies were able to recover the item, discovering that it allegedly contained illegal drugs and drug-related items.

Patrol personnel and aircraft were utilized during the pursuit. Amador County Sheriff’s deputies became involved when the duo crossed the county line, where it came to an end at the Amador County Fairgrounds, 34 miles from where the chase began. There were no injuries to bystanders of involved parties.

Remy was arrested on charges of violating parole, evading arrest, possession of a stolen motorcycle, driving under the influence and drug-related charges. White was arrested for drug-related charges, attempting to conceal or destroy evidence and interfering with the duties of a peace officer.
