What’s closed tomorrow

Offices throughout El Dorado County will be closed, Thursday, Nov. 22, for Thanksgiving, a state and federal holiday. Here’s a look at what local residents may expect:

Schools in El Dorado County will be closed for Thanksgiving break, Nov. 19-23.

Placerville Police Department offices will be closed Wednesday, Nov.21, Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23.  Fire Protection District offices will be closed Nov. 22 and 23. For emergency calls, dial 911. For non-emergency police calls, call 530-642-5280. For non-emergency fire and medical calls, call 530-647-5250.

All branches of the post office will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 22. There will be no mail delivery.

El Dorado Transit buses will not run on Nov. 22 or Nov. 23. The transit office will be closed both days.

All Placerville city offices will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and Thursday, Nov. 22 for the holiday and Friday, Nov. 23 for furlough.

County offices, including the county libraries and the county courts will be closed on both Thursday, Nov. 22, and Friday, Nov. 23.

El Dorado Disposal Service reports that trash pickup will continue as regularly scheduled. The office will be closed Thursday, Nov. 22, but open on Friday, Nov. 23. The transfer office will be open until noon on Thanksgiving, Nov. 22.

El Dorado Irrigation District offices will be closed on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23.

Banks will be closed for the holiday on Nov.22. However, some banks have branches in local supermarkets, and these may remain open. Check with your branch.

The offices of the Mountain Democrat will be closed on Thursday, Nov.22, for the holiday and open on Friday,  Nov. 23.  A paper will be published on Nov. 23.
