Sierra Wildlife Rescue will host its fall fundraising event, Wild About Nature, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 29 at Marshall Gold Discovery Park, North Beach area, in Coloma. The event will feature attractions for visitors of all ages, especially young people, including lessons on basic wildlife drawing and photography (bring your own camera); planting and making treats to attract birds, butterflies and other wild critters to your yard; wildlife crafts; and Native American wildlife legend story-telling. Meet education hawks and owls, shop in the wildlife gift store, and be sure to buy tickets in advance for the big raffle for terrific prizes offered by local businesses and artists. (If you bought raffle tickets for the Spring Event last April and didn’t win, you are still eligible.) The Grand Prize is four tickets to both Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm, plus $200 spending money.
Event tickets are $5 for children (children under 5 free) and $10 for adults. Refreshments will be sold separately. Contact 530-333-1692 for event and raffle tickets, and go to sierrawildliferescue.org for more information.
