Abraham Durham passed away, losing his battle to cancer but no longer in pain, on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. He was born Aug. 28, 1948, in Baltimore, Md. He was a resident of El Dorado County since moving from South San Francisco in 1980.
Abraham worked at Sambos, Lyons and Buttercup restaurants as a kitchen manager and cook. He was a kindred spirit who touched many people around him and could always light up a room. His humorous ways will not be forgotten. He leaves behind his wife Belinda, of 42-and-a-half years; two daughters, Constance Durham and Melinda Barrett; his casino partner and son-in-law, James Barrett; his loving grandson, Maurice Jared Calloway, who kept his grandpa up on his tablet/Nintendo games; and lastly his grandogs, George and Bogey, who unconditionally loved their grandpa.
Abe had many names; whether you called him the Can Man, Crazy Abe or Abey Baby, he was a blessing to this world who is greatly missed and loved. Rest in peace loving father, adoring husband, always in our hearts, Abraham.
Services will be held on Sept. 5, at 1 p.m., at Green Valley Church in Placerville, Calif.
