Adele Peirce

Aug. 28, 1922 — Aug. 22, 2013

Adele Marjorie Peirce was born to Dante and Amelia Bacoccini on Aug. 28, 1922, in Smithflat, Calif. She spent her entire life in the Placerville-Camino area and graduated from El Dorado High School. She was married to Curtis Peirce from Camino for 52 years until his passing. She was a favorite clerk at Lucky Stores on Broadway for many years. In retirement she loved fishing, traveling and especially dancing.

Adele is survived by her daughter, Priscilla “Gale” and son-in-law, Michael Johnson; granddaughters, La Vonne (Tony) Tobia, Sheryll Johnson and Marlane (Ross) Shoop; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was beautiful, vivacious and loved by everyone who knew her.

Friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Road in Placerville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 29, at the funeral home at 11 a.m., followed by interment at Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville.
