Alecia Kristen Doss Halk died suddenly on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, in Folsom, Calif. She was born Jan. 22, 1990. She was 22 years old. She leaves behind her loving husband, Daniel Halk; and their young son, Alexander, three years old. She is also survived by her parents, Bill Doss (Merilee) and Kara Swars (Bill); parents-in-law, Sharon Halk and Gene Piwko Jr.; sisters, Dawn Doss and McKenna Swars; brothers, Ryan Doss and Brandon Doss; grandparents, Bob Creek and Anita Wood; uncles, James and Jeff Creek; sister-in-law, Andrea Richards; and brother-in-law, Martin Valadez. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanette Creek.

Alecia grew up in Cameron Park and attended Ponderosa High School. On June 7, 2008 she married Daniel Halk in Reno, Nev. Soon after, they were expecting and shortly after Alexander was born in March 2009, they moved to Georgia, where Daniel was stationed with the Army. When Daniel was deployed to Afghanistan, Alecia returned to California with Alexander to be closer to family. They were reunited this past January when Daniel discharged from the Army and returned to California.

Alecia’s ambition in life was to help others. She was attending college courses in the medical field and was looking forward to starting summer classes soon. She loved spending time with her little boy and family.

Services will be held at Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery, Green Valley and Bass Lake roads in Rescue, Calif., on Thursday, June 14. A public visitation will be held at 1 p.m. and a celebration of life service will begin at 2 p.m. A reception following the service will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at 2151 Lotus Road in Placerville, Calif. In lieu of flowers a fund has been established for the benefit of Alecia’s son, Alexander, at El Dorado Savings Bank, Account No. 113022990.
