Dec. 27, 1944 — Aug. 27, 2013

Althea Claudia was born to Charles Archibald and Althea Margaret (Young) Beaman in Los Angeles and graduated from Lynwood High School in 1964. In January 1966 Althea wed her caring husband, Ramon “Mike” Prevost, who gave her the nickname “Sam.” She was most happy when spending time with Mike on one of their 14 cruises or vacationing together in Carlsbad, Calif. She was passionate about her family and friends. When the couple moved to Cameron Park two decades ago, Sam was sad to leave her friends. However, she quickly became active in the community and opened her heart to new friends while she stayed in contact with established friends.

Sam is survived by her loving husband and her siblings, George of Salem, Ore., Albert of Long Beach, Calif., John of Fountain Valley, Calif., Jan of Lake Almanor, Calif., and Alice of Lakewood, Calif. Her brothers, Townsend and Herbert, preceded her in death. Hearts are aching from her many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

A viewing was held on Sept. 3. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at 1 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 6, at Green Valley Mortuary and Cemetery, 3004 Alexandrite Drive in Rescue, Calif.
