Barbara was born in Braddock, Pa., to parents who emigrated from Yugoslavia. She spent her childhood on the family farm with five sisters, two brothers and a lively assortment of livestock, dogs and cats, including a fluffy white dog that she particularly loved. She passed away in Placerville at the age of 91.
As a young adult, Barbara worked as a nurse at Huron Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. In the 1960s through the early 1970s, she worked as a Nurse’s Aide and later as an LVN at Marshall Hospital. She worked as an office nurse for Dr. Shields and Dr. Santiago in Placerville, and as the night nurse at El Dorado Convalescent Hospital. After retiring from nursing in 1984, she worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Placerville until 2002.
Barbara is survived by three children, Richard, Robert, and Cheryl; and a gaggle of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No funeral services are planned; interment will be private. Remembrances may be made to the charity of your choice.
