Barbara Ellen Pratt was a mother, sister, daughter, wife and accomplished horsewoman who met life with a courageous spirit of adventure and relentless determination. Her many challenges and tragedies served to temper an understanding and wisdom cherished and sought by friends who loved how she could light up a room with her beautiful smile and soulful laughter. She lived a poor life, a rich life and then, as she liked to say, “I went country.” Horses were her greatest passion and she loved breeding, raising, training and riding stallions and many fine mares! Cross country endurance riding earned her consecutive 50 Mile IAHA Reserve National Champion titles.
Years of medical issues met their match with this tough woman and no disease could claim her. Be at peace knowing she rides as always in the Great Beyond.
