Bruce Bodlak, born Oct. 23, 1934, in Devil’s Lake, N.D., passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, JoAnn; children, Linda (Gernon) Brown and Bruce (Lisa) Bodlak Jr.; grandchildren, Christina (Kody) Shirk and Ryan Bodlak and their mother, Angie Besso, Madeleine and Emme Brown and Bronson and Haley Bodlak; great-grandsons, Kaden and Jaxson Shirk; and many loving friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Harry Bodlak, Virginia Hilton and Leo Erickson.
Bruce enjoyed shooting trap and skeet, the open West and freedom to roam. He was loyal, honest and devoted to all knew and in all he did. A memorial service will be held on May 17, at 4 p.m., at First Covenant Church, 10933 Progress Court in Rancho Cordova. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Kaiser Hospice of Sacramento.
