We lost our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the age of 66, following a brief illness. Carol was born to Joe Carl Davis and Willie Mae (Copeland) Davis on Jan. 9, 1947, in Paramount, Calif. She is survived by her loving husband, Ken Rohlfing of Camino, Calif.; her daughter, Carrie M. Mowry of Pittsburgh, Penn.; her brother, Carl Davis of Victorville, Calif.; her stepson and wife, Ken and Rhonda Rohlfing of Drake’s Branch, Va., their children, Jessie and Mark; and stepson and wife, Larry and Maggie Rohlfing of La Habra Heights, Calif., and their children Armando, Edmund, Eric, Jessica, Maureen, Joseph and Russell.
Carol graduated from Paramount High School. She earned her Nursing diploma from the Los Angeles County Medical School of Nursing in 1969. She served as an emergency room and intensive care nurse for most of her career. She worked at Los Angeles County Hospital, Downey Community Hospital, Long Beach Community Hospital, Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe and then Marshall Medical Center in Placerville. She studied diligently to receive her Bachelor of Arts in Christian Counseling from Biola University in 1992.
Carol loved to entertain. She performed in the women’s barbershop singing organization Sweet Adeline’s International, the Sierra Gold Chorus of Placerville and the Camellia City and Sacramento Valley Choruses of Sacramento in addition to a number of quartets. In the past few years, Carol endured many health issues, yet she never lost her sense of humor, loyalty to her family and friends or her wisdom, compassion, laughter and unwavering love for her family, friends and her Lord, Jesus Christ. She will be missed greatly.
A memorial service will take place Friday, March 29, at 2:30 p.m., at Pioneer Bible Church, 6851 Mt. Aukum Road in Somerset, Calif. Call 530-620-4859 for more information.
