Cliff Bratton

Dec. 31, 1952 — April 14, 2013

Clifton G. Bratton passed away suddenly in Placerville surrounded by his family on April 14, 2013. He was a devoted and loving husband of 15 years to Elizabeth Bratton; a beloved father to Morgan and Katherine “Katie” Bratton and step-father of William Talbot; cherished son of Ramona Bratton; and brother to Mark (Kristen) Bratton and Jimmy Bratton. He will be missed by his niece and nephews and a very large group of dear friends.

Cliff was born in La Jolla, Calif., on Dec. 31, 1952, and moved to Placerville in 1976. His passion was being a stay-at-home Dad to Morgan and Katie. He loved to garden, hike and was an avid and long time geo-cacher. The geo-caching community knew him as “Pirates 2+2”. In his working years, he did finish carpentry for many people in the community who became his friends.

A celebration of Cliff’s life will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m., at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Road in Placerville. Private inurnment was held. Friends may sign an electronic guestbook and leave condolences at chapelofthepinesfunerals.com.

R.I.P. Cliff. Wish I'd had more time to get to know you, as our sons had become good friends. For the benefit of your own family, my son thought very highly of you and enjoyed being in your presence. He doesn't cry very often but his eyes were tear-filled when he got off the phone with your son and then told me the news. No doubt the boys will be friends for years to come and will carry on the geo caching activities you introduced them to. And of course I'll do what I can to help them with that. Rest easy, sir. God will provide.
