Clyde Lynn Bennett passed away at his Pollock Pines home on July 29, 2014 after a long battle with lung cancer. Clyde was born in Tennessee on August 20, 1947 and moved with his family to California in the early 1950s. After a long and well-regarded career as a locksmith in the south San Francisco Bay Area (San Jose and Redwood City) he moved to Pollock Pines in 2008. He leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 34 years, Paula Zanette; his mother, Geraldine Bennett; his son, James Clark Smith; and his four sisters, Betty Cremins, Rachel Vigil, Ruby Snelson and Elizabeth Mondragon.
Clyde truly enjoyed his life among the forest, lakes, and wildlife of the Western Slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range. During his short time in Pollock Pines, he was able to express his love of all animals, wild and domestic, and to easily make friends. He will be sorely missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In accordance with Clyde’s wishes there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marshall Cancer Resource Center, 3581 Palmer Dr. Ste. 202, Cameron Park, CA 95682.
