Cordell “Kelly” F. Kelly passed away in Placerville on Jan. 17, 2014. He was a beloved husband of 45 years to Shirley Kelly of Placerville; loving father of Lonnie (Judy) Kelly and September (Shannon) Miller; brother of Janice (Bob) Wilkinson; and devoted grandfather of Lonnie Jr., Casey, Chelsey, Joseph and Katelyn.
Kelly was born in Sacramento on Jan. 22, 1945, and had lived in Placerville since 1978. He was a steel fitter at PDM/Strocal of Sacramento, retiring after 30 years. He went on to work 10 years at Walmart in Placerville. A Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Navy, he was a member of the Lions Club of Diamond Springs, a lifetime member of the NRA and a Ham Radio operator (call sign WB6ROU).
A viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home, 2855 Cold Springs Road in Placerville, followed by the funeral service at 1. Interment with military honors will be held immediately after the service at Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville. Contributions in Kelly’s name may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O.
