David Viramontes Jr

April 1957 – July 18, 2012

David Viramontes Jr. passed away unexpectedly at his home in Diamond Springs, Calif., on July 18, 2012. Born in Fresno, CA, on April 26, 1957, and raised in Sanger, CA.

David worked as an electrician most of his adult life, and finally, on October 3rd, 1994, achieved his dream of having his Contractor’s License, and created his business, Austin Electric, in Diamond Springs.  Projects included the remodel of the Spreckels Sugar Mansion in San Francisco; the Bee Bennett House in Placerville, CA; many Wineries, B & B’s, & custom homes in the surrounding areas. He also provided 24 hour service, and was known in the Senior Community for his “Honest & Reliable Service.”

Before moving to El Dorado County in 1991, he resided in San Mateo, CA, where he met his wife, Michele. Together they enjoyed concerts, boating, bowling, trips to San Francisco & Monterey. David was a devoted fan of the S.F. 49er’s & S.F. Giants, and was thrilled when he could attend a game. He loved to make people laugh, always being the “life” of the party. If you came for a visit, you always left with a gift from him.

He is survived by his Partner & Wife of 23 years, Michele Thorpe-Viramontes, of Diamond Springs; his Mother-in-Law “Mom”, Linda Mikolajewski of Diamond Springs; His Father & Mother, David & Antonia Viramontes of Sanger, Grandmother, Ruth Gomez of Sanger; his brother, Benjamin Viramontes (Stacey) & nephew, Chase Viramontes of Kingsburg, CA; daughter, Courtney Viramontes of Clayton, CA.; son, Austin Viramontes (Alicia) of Florida; and many uncles, aunts & cousins.

David, sadly, had to retire his business in 2009 because of health issues. So in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to: El Dorado Savings Bank, @ 694 Pleasant Valley Rd, Ste 3, Diamond Springs, CA. 95619. Condolences can be mailed to: P.O. Box 698, Diamond Springs, CA 95619.

A “Celebration of Life” will be on Friday, August 3rd at Noon @ the Diamond Springs Fire Hall,  located at: 3734 China Garden Rd., Diamond Springs. (behind the fire station). It will be potluck, & all are invited to attend. For contact information you can call 530-642-8760, or e-mail; mrtv09@comcast.net.
