June 25, 1971 — Aug. 22, 2012
Diane Grieco,41, of Galt, passed away on Aug. 22, 2012, from an inoperable brain tumor. Born on June 25, 1971, in Placerville, to Mary and Bill Kakouras, she graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1989. She received an AA in Lane Co. After a trip to Greece to meet her father’s family, she moved to Beaverton and became a driving instructor. She had a unique style for teaching. Later she moved back and landed a job at HP-Roseville, where she grew her love for computers.
Diane was passionately economical so you often saw her riding her scooter and boasting about its fuel economy. The scooter had to go after she met her husband, Russell Grieco, and became pregnant with their son, Vincent Grieco, now 10 and a very compassionate young man. She also has a caring stepson, Tayler, who just returned to Chico State. Diane was extremely supportive of her family and community. She optimistically called another tumor found in 2003 “a blessing in disguise,” because disability allowed her to spend more time with her family, friends and support others in need. She had an unforgettable personality and left lasting impressions on many.
Deeply mourning her loss are her in-laws, Linda and Richard Grieco; sister, Toni MacKinnon; close friends, Sandy Lewis and Natalie Bradburn; grandfather, Carmen J. Giannoccaro; and countless others. Diane thought flowers were impractical so if you want to help, please provide a donation to the account set up at the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Galt by calling Vickie at 209-339-2531, regarding account No. 5112895001. A celebration of life will he held at Diane’s home on Sept. 2, starting at 11 a.m. Heaven has another angel.
