Donna Joanne Zessin (Tonzi) went to be with her Lord early Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010. She was a long-time resident of El Dorado County, being born Oct. 28, 1937, in Placerville, and raised in South Lake Tahoe, where she was married on July 14, 1956.
Donna is survived by her husband, Raymond Zessin; three daughters, Linda (Don) Ficklin, Tammy Floyd and Jillene Zessin-Fountain (Pat Fountain); four grandchildren, Hope Ralyn Hawes, Raymond (Joey) Ficklin, Travis John Floyd and Donna Kaylene Zessin-Fountain; and four great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Wesley, Trinity and Maddison. She is also survived by nephews, James Salvo and family and Mitchell Salvo and family; and cousins, Ida (Ken) Evans and family, David (Shirley) Allen and family and Roger (Susan) Allen and family. Those who have gone on before are her parents, Harold “Joe” and Norma Nadean Davey Tonzi; sister, Phyllis Brunello-Salvo; nephew, Frank Salvo; cousin, Charles Allen; sister-in-law, Pat (Monroe) Zessin; and nephew, Adam Zessin.
No services will be held at this time but there will be a ceremony of “Life Celebration” in January, 2011. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Macular Degeneration Association, P.O. Box 96162, Washington, DC 20090-6162, in Donna’s name.
