Dot passed away at Marshall Hospital in Placerville on Dec. 24, 2012. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Louis F. Spohn; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Lisa Spohn of Portland, Ore.; daughter, Heather Spohn of Diamond Springs; grandson, Andrew Spohn of Surprise, Ariz.; granddaughter, Hannah Spohn of Portland, Ore.; sister, Diane Johnson of Placerville; and brother, Jack Deignan of Novato, Calif. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Deignan.
Dorothy was born and raised in San Francisco, Calif., and graduated from Mission High School in 1950. She spent the majority of her life in San Francisco and Ukiah before moving to Diamond Springs in 1977. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and being a loving mother to her children. She worked for several years at World Savings in Placerville and for the El Dorado County Office of Education.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 2 p.m., at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3109 Sacramento Street in Placerville, Cailf., followed by burial at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be posted at chapelofthepinesfunerals.com.
