Dorothy was born to Marvin and Phyllis Johnson in Placerville, Calif., where she passed peacefully after struggling with her health for many years. She was a lover of animals and the outdoors who enjoyed gardening and canning from her garden. She was a wonderful cook who had a passion for accumulating recipes, which her family had the pleasure of dining on. She was also an Apple Hill baker for many years and a silent partner in a local downtown restaurant. She loved music and attended many Bluegrass festivals.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 23 years, Bobby; children, Tami (Mike) Merry and Tod (Rachelle) Caruthers; stepchildren, Danny (Victoria) and John Partain; grandchildren, Tiffany and Christopher (Cynthia) Merry, Kelsey and Haley Caruthers and Adam and Amanda Partain; and five great-grandchildren. She was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, whose smile will be greatly missed by her family.
Friends and family are invited to a celebration of life on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Henningsen Lotus Park in Lotus, Calif. Online condolences may be posted at chapelofthepinesfunerals.com.
