Dorothy Brubaker

July 19, 1929 — Aug. 26, 2012

Dorothy May Brubaker, age 83, of Camino, Calif., passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012, in Placerville, Calif., as a result of cancer. She was born July 19, 1929, in Los Angeles, Calif., to parents Harvey and Adriana Bolton.

Dorothy was married to Bruce O. Brubaker Jr. on July 2, 1948. After raising three children in Southern California they moved to Camino in 1978. There they built a house that has been home to many of the children and grandchildren. Her husband Bruce died from cancer in 1985, after which she married Morris Justesen and moved to Florida. Later Dorothy and Morris returned to Camino where Morris passed away. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was an honorable member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For many years, Dorothy was chorister and choir director for the Camino Ward of the Church. She was working as a bookkeeper until shortly before she passed away. She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Beth) and Adam (Tami) Brubaker; daughter, Jennie (Dan) Olsen; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, beginning with visitation at 9 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m., at the Latter-day Saint Chapel, 4621 Pony Express Trail in Camino, Calif. Her interment will be at Westwood Hills Memorial Park, Placerville, Calif. The Brubaker family extends their gratitude to the medical staff at the Marshal Hospital and to Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home for their kindness and care. Friends may sign an electronic guestbook and leave condolences at chapelofthepinesfunerals.com.
