Jan. 6, 1939 — July 14, 2012
Dr. Paul Washburn passed away peacefully on July 14, 2012, in his home. He was born in Redding, Calif., on Jan. 6, 1939, and moved to Placerville to start his optometry practice. He served as a “Bird Col.” in the Army for 35 years. He was very proud to serve his country.
Paul enjoyed coaching little league for many years. He loved archery and belonged to the El Dorado Hills Archery Club. He competed in the Senior Olympics and won a gold medal. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing with his family and friends.
Paul is survived by his wife of 22 years, Charlene; his children, Daric Perkins and wife, Christine, and Lisa Lubinksi and husband, Travis Lubinksi; and eight grandchildren, Sara, Megan, Emily, Jamie, Ashley, Sydney, Hayden and Jacob. He was an extremely devoted husband, dad, and Papa. He will be sorely missed.
