Elizabeth Ruth Spanos passed away at her home in Placerville on Dec, 10, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband George, who passed away only a few weeks earlier, on Oct. 20, 2013. Elizabeth and George were married 56 years and retired to Placerville from Hammond, Ind., where they met. Elizabeth worked for Walgreens and the Calumet National Bank in Hammond, and, after “retiring” to Placerville, worked at Security Pacific Bank, then KMart and volunteered at Marshall Hospital. Elizabeth and George were active and long-time members of the First Christian Church of Placerville.
