Elizabeth Sloan was born in Olney, Texas, on May 15, 1924, and passed away on June 26, 2013, at Marshall Hospital in Placerville.
Elizabeth’s first love was her family and friends. She was loving mother to Deborah Robinson (and Bill), Barth “Ski” Gutowsky and Jeton Holland. She was a loving grandmother to Jeni Payne, Jerry Payne, Criesta Jerray and Beau Gutowsky; and a loving great-grandmother to Jordan Mazzulo and Joey Lacoste.
Elizabeth was a real estate broker for 30 years in the Bay Area and El Dorado County. She was also a member of Gold Country Artists Gallery in Placerville since 1993 and served as President, Vice President and many other posts in that organization that she loved so dearly. She was also a member of the Placerville Arts Association. She loved creating beautiful watercolor and pastel paintings of her family members, the beautiful flowers and natural surroundings of the foothills around Placerville that she loved, and from her many times spent by the ocean. She was also a member of several other organizations around Placerville and enjoyed all the people and friends she got to know over her many years there.
A celebration of life memorial will be held for Elizabeth on July 27, from 1 to 4 p.m., with the Mountainside Center for Spiritual Living at Town Hall, 549 Main Street in Placerville.
