Franklin George Whitman Sr. died peacefully at his home in Placerville, Calif., on Nov 1, 2012. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Betty Zeigler Whitman. He was a graduate of Horseheads High School in Horseheads, N.Y. Upon his retirement from Moore Business Forms in Elmira, N.Y., he and his family moved to California. For his distinguished service with the U.S. Army in North Africa, Italy, France and Germany during World War II he was awarded the Bronze Star. He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Delany; his three sons, David, John, and Franklin Whitman Jr.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was loved. He will be missed.
