A graduate of El Dorado High School Class of 1954, George Schwartz passed Nov. 25, 2013, after a courageous battle with bone cancer. He is survived by his brother and sister as well as three daughters, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and his girlfriend.
George joined the Navy after high school and served until 1962 aboard the USS Lexington. He was also an extraordinary gardener as well as an avid golfer who played weekly for more than 30 years with the same four close friends. He requested that no service be held. Anyone wishing to send a remembrance is requested to make donations in his name to United Cerebral Palsy, It Takes Guts or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital — all charities George supported.
