George put faith in his backpack and hiked over the mountain to Heaven. He was a Northern California native, long-time Lutheran, UC Berkeley graduate in political science, active Democrat — especially during the Pat Brown administration — avid fisherman and backpacker. His family will remember him with love: wife of 48 years, Joan; four children, Kim (Kathleen), Jody Bardsley (Len), Leslie Sharp (Morris, Jr.) and Lynn Lorber (Michael); five grandchildren, Kirsten Sharp, Morris Sharp III, Joe Normington, Michael Sharp and Natasha Clark; seven great-grandchildren, Hayden Clark, Morris Sharp IV, Adriana Clark, D’Marques Sharp, Adrien Clark, Jesiah Jones and Jeremiah Sharp; sister, Inez Schamber; and a niece, nephews and their families.
A memorial service (date to be announced) will be held at First Lutheran Church, 1200 Pinecrest Court in Placerville, Calif. Remembrances may be made to Snowline Hospice, 6520 Pleasant Valley Road, Diamond Springs, CA 95619, or First Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, or to a charitable organization of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home in Placerville.
