George W. Lytton

George Lytton

July 20, 1937 — Sept. 29, 2012

George W. Lytton, age 75, of El Dorado Hills, Calif., passed away on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, in Granite Bay, Calif., due to Vascular Dementia. He was born on July 20, 1937, in Elizabethtown, N.C., to his parents, G. Dewey Lytton and Lora Edwards.

George married Beth Knief in San Francisco, Calif., on Jun 19, 1966. He attended Mars Hill College in North Carolina and Golden Gate University and graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. He served in the Marine Corps, where he was a member of the 1st Division Air Wing Band. He was employed by the State of California as an EDD Auditor for 30 years. He served as a Scout Master in Eureka, Calif. He was a founding member of Cornerstone Christian Church, where he served as Choir Director and Deacon. He enjoyed music, travel and attending senior center activities. He was a past member of Sacramento Symphony Chorus and Fair Oaks Village Singers.

George is survived by his loving wife, Beth. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Lytton of South Carolina; in-laws, Carolyn Salazar and Ernest and Gene Knief; his nephews, Brian and Brett Lytton and Chester (Lisa) Knief; and great nieces, nephews and numerous cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service for George at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Cornerstone Christian Church, 931 Lassen Lane in El Dorado Hills, Calif. Private interment was held at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa, Calif.
