Herbert L. Lindemann, Jr., born Dec. 5, 1933, died at home in the presence of family members on June 21, 2012, in Somerset, Calif. He was the oldest son of the late Helen and Herbert Lindemann, Sr.; brother of Austin Lindemann; husband of Jeanne Marie (Noel) Lindemann; father of seven children, Marie, Herbert III, Patricia Peyton (Jack), Dennis Mary Andrew (Christina) and Noel Lindemann; grandfather of Kristin Brown (Matthew), Michelle, Jessica and Melissa Peyton, Orlando, Vanessa Vendon (Mark) and Darren Lindemann (Jesika) and Robert and John Henry Lindemann; and great-grandfather to Wyatt Vendon.
Herbert was a retired Civilian Personnel Manager for the Department of the Navy and a retired LT Col USAF Reserve. He flew as a navigator on many missions to Pacific Air Bases, including South Vietnam. He was also an active member of Sheriff’s Team of Active Retirees (STAR) in El Dorado County.
Friends may visit Thursday June 28, at 6:30 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m., at Duggan Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue in Daly City. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Cecilia Church (17th and Vicente St.) Friday, June 29, at 11 a.m. in San Francisco. Committal will be private. In lieu of flowers donations maybe made to Snowline Hospice, 6520 Pleasant Valley Road, Diamond Springs, CA 95619.
