Irene Elizabeth Lindner was born April 25, 1923, to George and Ruth Cantwell in San Francisco. She graduated from Balboa High School and then worked in the office in the Bethlehem Steel ship yards during World War II. She went to a dance on her birthday in 1946 and met the love of her life, Howard Lindner. They were married Sept. 16, 1946 and were married for 65 wonderful years. They had one son, Barry. They moved to Pollock Pines in 1954.
Irene was a Kindergarten teacher’s aid for many years at Pollock Pines and Pinewood schools. She and Howard loved to camp and go for Jeep rides. They loved to travel and in later years would take their granddaughters with them wherever they went. She always made everyone feel welcome and at home.
Irene is survived by her husband, Howard; her son, Barry (Linda); granddaughters, Sarah Lindner and Emily Gaurnier (Beracah); great-grandson, Qoltae; and great-granddaughter, Zoe. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Services will be held at a later date.
