CPT (Retired) James “Jim” Norman Stowe was born Oct. 19, 1930, in Placerville, Calif., and died March 8, 2013, in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid hunter and fly fisherman. His family loved the outdoors and did a lot of camping. He was meticulous in his education and his work. He retired from Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E), as a Senior Engineering Estimator after 38-and-a-half years in 1990. He also served our country in the California Army National Guard for 20 years in both the Infantry and as a Field Artillery officer.
Jim will be welcomed by his parents, James F. and Dorothy Stowe; his brother, Stan Stowe; his sister, Dotty Diskin; and his daughter, Rebecca D Gomes and her husband, Ken Gomes. He is survived by his loving wife, Doloras (Stancil); daughter, Deborah (Mike Gearty); sons, Mike Stowe and Steve Stowe (Barbara Stetter); and six grandchildren. Jim’s memorial service was held in Phoenix on March 18. He was interred at the Phoenix Arizona National Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
