Jeanie Redmond

April 6, 1933 — Nov. 18, 2013

Unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, surrounded by her family and loved ones, Jeanie was called home to the Lord. She was a vibrant, kind, compassionate lady who lived each day to the fullest. She was born in Patterson, Calif., but after moving to Placerville 60 years ago, there was no other place that she would call home but here. She will be missed everyday.

Jeanie is survived by her twin brother, John Knutson (Lynn) of Las Vegas, Nev.; the love of her life, Bill George of Placerville; daughters, Cindy Helms-Pyle of Sparks, Nev., Leslie Helms-Joost (David) of Adin, Calif., and Erin Helms-Lara (John) of Georgetown, Calif.; grandchildren, April, Justin (Carla), Dennis (Jessica), Andrea, Kelly, Amelia, Rachel and Katie; and great-grandchildren, Alisa, Austin, Mason, Logan, Riley and Lily.

A celebration of life will be held in January 2014. Details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers a memorial account has been established at El Dorado Savings Bank, to be dispersed to the various charities Jeanie was involved in.

I was so very sorry to hear of Jean's death. I saw her for the first time in decades at Morris's (my former father-in-law) memorial service a few months ago. I was always so fond of her. I felt that she was a woman born before her time. Please notify me of the details of the upcoming memorial service when they are available. Warmest Regards, Marlene Knutson

To Jeanie's family and to Bill: We were so very sorry to learn of your loss. We met Jeanie and Bill on our Alaskan cruise and had a great time with them on all our Alaskan adventures. Although we hadn't known Jeanie before, we could see right away what a lovely, charming person she was. We feel lucky to have known her the short time that we did. May her memory serve as a blessing.
