Joseph W. Anderson, 66, of El Dorado Hills, Calif., passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at his home. He was born Feb. 27, 1947, to John Cecil and Martha Rebecca (Jordan) Anderson in Henderson, Tenn.
Joe graduated from Stockton High School in Stockton, Ill., in 1965. He joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Long Beach in Long Beach, Calif. On Sept. 18, 1971, He married Kelley Ruth O’Farrell, his loving wife of 41 years. They had four children.
An El Dorado Hills Resident since 1984, Joe loved his family and friends. He was involved in his children’s sports and community. After 30 plus years, he retired from the Postal Service in 2001. In retirement, he never stopped working. He put everyone before himself and was well known for his friendly conversation. His smile, generosity, genuine spirit — and mustache — will be missed, but always remembered. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and coach, but most of all, a friend to all. He is survived by his wife, Kelley; sons, John and Jeff; daughter, Koleen (Lucio); and his grandson, Cristiano Joshua Lucio. “We love you!”
A service was held at Green Valley Cemetery in Cameron Park, Calif., on July 2. Joe was laid to rest next to his son, Josh.
