1939 — 2013
Golf’s best friend, Larry G. Beckman, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013. Larry was born to Harry and Frances Beckman of Chico, Calif., on Oct. 2, 1939. He was raised in Chico, then lived in the Placerville area for the past 35 years. He was 73 years old. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Cold Springs Golf and Country Club since 1991, where he met his lifelong friends in golf.
Larry is survived by his one sister, Linda Beckman Payne (Edward) of Eagle Point, Ore.; and three neices, Kerri, Deborah and Teresa. He was also married to Karen Beckman of Cameron Park from 1978 to 1994. Together they were blessed with one son, Kevin Beckman of Cameron Park.
Larry was known for having a heart of gold. He loved sports, played golf, vacationed in Baja and Hawaii and would give the shirt off his back for his friends. We will all miss him, but know that he is forever on the first tee and the 19th hole.
A celebration of life will be held for Larry on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m., at Cold Springs Golf and Country Club. All are invited. Cards and condolences may be sent to Karen Beckman, 2500 Chesapeake Bay Circle, Cameron Park, CA 95682.
