Leon Perrigo

April 15, 1925 — June 9, 2013

Leon G. Perrigo, Minister of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 9, 2013, at the age of 88. He was born April 15, 1925, to Gilbert Jerome Perrigo and Esther Victoria Swenson. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, W. Jean Perrigo. He is survived by son, David Perrigo (Loren); daughter, Judy Conner (John); four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters.

Leon was a church planter for 30 years in Southern California, and director of Child Evangelism Fellowship in Long Beach, Calif. The family is grateful to Vitas and Snowline Hospice, Empire Ranch Alzheimer’s Facility and Gold Country Retirement/Assisted Living for their loving care of Leon. Graveside services will be Saturday, June 15, at 11 a.m., at Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville, Calif. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to El Dorado County Young Life, 3941 Park Drive, Suite 20461, El Dorado Hills, CA 95762. Arrangements were entrusted to Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home in Placerville.

I was sad to hear of the passing of pastor Perrigo. I was thinking of all the people that have helped me in my singing career, and all roads lead back to this man. From the singing lessons that he traded for by donating space in the church, to the opportunity to hone my skills singing at Sunday services. All the best to David & Judy. Your dad will have a special place in heaven. Chad Paxton
