Leota E. Slaton was born March 19, 1935, to Olen and Stella Moore, in Watson, Okla., one of 10 children. She passed away June 26, 2013, due to medical problems. She passed peacefully in her sleep with family present. She was preceded in death by her husband, James in 1999. She is survived by her son, Rick; granddaughter, Ashley; and one great-granddaughter, all of Camino, Calif. She is also survived by sister, Jene Lindahl of Prescott, Ariz.; brother, J.C. Moore of Markleeville, Calif.; sister, Wilma Allison of Galt, Calif.; sister, Barbara Robinson of Camino; sister, Glenda Burke of Diamond Springs, Calif.; too many nieces and nephews to mention; and granddaughter Ashley’s love, Raymond Valdez.
Leota was the matriarch of our family and will be missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 8, from 4 to 6 p.m., and funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 9, at 11 a.m., at Chapel of the Pines Mortuary, 2855 Cold Springs Road in Placerville, Calif.
