Great Grandmother Lois changed her residence from earth to a “Mansion in Glory” on Friday morning, Jan. 4, 2013.
Lois Kathleen Holes grew up on the Camas Prarie in Idaho and lived all her life in Washington and Idaho. Seven years ago she relocated to California to live with her son-in-law and daughter, Mack and Ronnie Jo Dewater of Shingle Springs. She is also survived by her son, Jim of Shelton, Wash.; seven grandchildren; 19 geat-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Lois regularly attended Gold Country Baptist Church before a fall on March 8, 2012, necessitating surgery and rehab at Gold Country Health Center. She has been receiving their excellent, loving care these past nine months and enjoyed daily visits from her daughter and frequent attention from the four generations living in the area. She was a woman of activity and enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and travel. She was energetic in volunteer work at her church and had more than 700 hours of hospice service.
Her life exemplified her love and devotion to Jesus Christ and her influence on her family and the many she taught in public schools and Sunday school will reap eternal rewards. Her memorial service is at Gold Country Baptist Church in Shingle Springs on Saturday, March 2, at 11 a.m.
