Mabel Hoover

Dec. 3, 1918 — Aug. 4, 2012

Mabel E. Hoover joined her husband and sons as she passed away Aug. 4, 2012. She was born on the family ranch at Michigan Bar, Calif., 93 years ago. She lived in El Dorado County for 90 years. She volunteered at the Placerville Pines and at Gold Country for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Sue; as well as seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother and sister and numerous nieces and nephews. Mabel was one feisty, tough lady with a lot of spunk and she will be greatly missed.

At Mabel’s request, no services were held, with private inurnment at Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville. Contributions in her name may be made to the El Dorado County Search and Rescue, P.O. Box 721, Placerville, CA 95667 (or online at comspark.com/esarc/donate.htm). Arrangements entrusted to Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home in Placerville.

    Rest In Peace dear Mabel. Mabel was such a wonderful lady. She taught me how to bake Swedish Tea Rings. We had so much fun doing that. My condolences to her family.
