Margaret Mary Sparks, born Sept. 1, 1922, went to rest peacefully on Jan. 30, 2013, in Placerville, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Harry Jay Sparks (2000); loving mother of Donald (Linda) Sparks of Auburn and the late Neal S. Sparks (1989); beloved sister of Madeline Kelsey of Clermont, Fla.; devoted grandmother of Lisa (Todd) Suender, Libby Graham and Jennifer (Ryan) O’Donnell; and great-grandmother of Nathan Suender, Olivia Grace O’Donnell and Miles Hugh O’Donnell.
Margaret was a blueprint specialist at Aerojet General Corporation for 30 years and a resident of Diamond Springs for over 35 years. She was a member of the Newcomers Club of Diamond Springs, a Snowline Hospice volunteer and a member of the Red Hats of Diamond Springs/Placerville and St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Margaret requested that no services be held and inurnment will be private at Westwood Hills Memorial Park in Placerville, where she will join her husband, Harry and her son, Neal. Contributions in her name may be made to Snowline Hospice of El Dorado County, 6520 Pleasant Valley Road, Diamond Springs, CA 95619 or online at snowlinehospice.org. Arrangements entrusted to Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home in Placerville.
