Margery “June” Evans, a Placerville resident, died on July 16. She was 79.
She was born in Buncombe, Tennessee; attended schools in Tennessee and Arkansas, and graduated from University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
A professionally trained vocalist, she enjoyed music throughout her life and was a member of the Shakespeare Singers and also the Sensational Singing Seniors.
She was also a past President and Life Member of Placerville Shakespeare Club, a member of Newcomer’s Club, and Friends of the Cary House.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ron.
She is survived by her sons Clifford of Cameron Park and Gregory of Placerville, four grandchildren, and a number of close friends and loved ones.
There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, August 28th, at Placerville Shakespeare Club, 2940 Bedford Avenue, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Her friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of her life.
