Born Marilyn Jean Smith on Aug. 14, 1948, in Sacramento, Calif, she passed away July 27, 2013, in Placerville, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter J. “Smitty” and Nina (Railey) Smith.
Marilyn preferred life in El Dorado County. She was a graduate of Ponderosa High. She also lived in the Bay Area and Idaho. She was always generous with her time and treasure. She was a professional phlebotomist with a lifelong passion for animals, Native American memorabilia and her grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Billy B. Garrett; sisters, Patricia Schneider (Jerry), Francis “Frankie” Bain and twin Wendy Armstrong (Rocky); sons, Troy Miller (Jodie) and Joseph Miller (Mary Beth); three step-children; and many beloved grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m., at Westwood Hills in Placerville.
