Marge Oehlschlaeger, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in Placerville, Calif., at the age of 98. Marge was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ed Oehlschlaeger. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (husband Ed) Newell and Jean (husband Tim) Beason; her grandchildren, Alicia Newell, Bryce (wife Dana) Newell, Emily (husband Drew) Wilson and Eric Beason; and great-grandsons, Christopher and Daniel Wilson.
Marge was born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y. She and Ed were married on Dec. 7, 1946, in Portland, Ore. They moved to California in 1954 and raised their family in Walnut Creek. Marge was an excellent homemaker, pianist and bridge player. She had many friends in her church, bridge groups and neighborhood. In 2001, she and her husband moved to Placerville to be closer to their children.
Marge was blessed with a sharp mind and enjoyed reading, deciphering cryptoquotes and following sports. She will be especially remembered for her devotion to her faith and family.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, Oct. 28, at Light of the Hills Lutheran Church. Remembrances can be made to the church, located at 3100 Rodeo Road, Cameron Park, CA 95682.
