Mary Edith Stone passed away at UC Davis, Sacramento on Nov. 22, 2013. She was the loving mother of Ed and Ron Stone; devoted grandmother of five; great-grandmother of seven; and great-great-grandmother of one.
A native of Lawton, Okla., aged 87 years, Mary moved to Placerville in 1960 and was the former owner of Stones Corner, Mary Stone Ceramics and Second Time Around. She was an active member of A.A. for 57 years and an avid and passionate quilter and ceramics maker. Above all, she loved her family and passed on her passion and knowledge to her grandchildren.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 4 p.m., at the El Dorado Community Church, 4701 Church Street in El Dorado, Calif. (95623). Private inurnment has been held. Contributions in Mary’s name may be made to the El Dorado Community Church or Snowline Hospice of El Dorado County, 6520 Pleasant Valley Road, Diamond Springs, CA 95619 or online at snowlinehospice.org.
