Mary Sue Post, a longtime resident of Placerville, Calif., passed on Sunday, March 24, 2013, in San Francisco, Calif. Born in 1933 near Tulsa, Okla., she was the daughter of Maggie and Walter Weriner. Siblings included three sisters and two brothers. She was most recently married to the late Douglas Post. They had no children, but she helped raise two boys and a girl. She was well known for painting custom patterns of intricate detail on china, porcelain and glass lamps, which she kiln-fired on premises. For several years she sold her work from her own Placerville shop, which was located near where Main Street and Broadway intersect.
Mary and Doug were dearly loved members of the Christian Science church in Placerville, and both are missed. She is survived by a sister, Nancy Adkinson of Carthage, Mo. An informal memorial service will be held in the Bedford Avenue church on Sunday, April 14, at 2 p.m.
