Maury was born in Pasadena, Calif., July 7, 1919. He passed away in Cameron Park, Calif., Dec. 23, 2013. His parents were Helen Mears McLoughlin and Maurice Evans McLoughlin. His father was in the Tennis Hall of Fame.
As a young man Maury played tennis and golf. He attended the University of California Berkeley on a tennis scholarship. He graduated as a Civil Engineer. During the second world war he served as a Naval Officer in the South Pacific. After the war he started work the Standard Oil Company of California, now Chevron. He married Nancy Brewer in 1954 and lived in Manhattan Beach, Calif., until his retirement from Chevron as a Senior Engineer. He spent his retirement in Cameron Park, where he was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church Folsom and the Cameron Park Country Club.
Maury was preceded in death by his son, Andrew; and sisters, Jean Bigelow and Doris Santo. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Nancy; son, John and daughter-in-law, Deidre (DiDi); three granddaughters, Mollie McLoughlin and Amy McLoughlin and Katherine McNulty and husband, Patrick; and great-grandson, Quinn; as well as many fine nieces and nephews.
