Melba Risley was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Heavener, Okla., to Daisy Lea Burns and James Oliver Kunkel. She Came to California in 1935 and was raised in San Martin, Calif. She met and married Truman in 1946 and moved to Placerville on May 11, 2000.
Melba leaves her husband of 67 years, Truman Risley; son, Gary and wife, Diane; daughter, Sharon; grandchildren, Dacia, Melanie and John; great-grandchildren, Kylie, Taylor, Jovie, Lollie and Isaiah; brothers, James and David Kunkel; sister, Dean Pitts; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
