Merle Ellen (Hamp) Smith, born and raised in Placerville, a current resident of Fairfield, passed away on July 24, 2012 peacefully at her home. She was 66. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Michelle; and by her loving husband Paul. Merle was a sweet and special lady who touched so many hearts during her lifetime. Her passion was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved spending time with those close to her heart.
She is survived by her brother, Owen Hamp; and by her three sisters, Jean Ann (Hamp) Hunter, Alice (Hamp) Lewis, and Cindy (Hamp) Sutherland; one son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jessica Smith; one daughter and son-in-law, Laurie (Smith) and Hector Plancarte; 2 granddaughters Lorena and Natalia Plancarte; and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Services will take place Tuesday, July 31st at 10am at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 101 Oakwood Dr, Fairfield CA 94534.
