Mike was born in Placerville. His parents were Bud and Kay Carroll of Camino. He had two children: his daughter, Cheri Rohacz with grandchildren Terry and Ally of Sand Lake, Mich., and his son, Michael Jr. (Ashley) of Placerville. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; her children, who called him “Pops,” Ken Evans of Pollock Pines and Lisa Evans of Roseville; and three grandsons who called him “G-Pa,” Ryan and Zach Smith and Bo Anderson. He has a sister, Marcia Parks (Jim) of Placerville.
Mike worked at Michigan Cal Lumber Mill, drove a logging truck for many years and built and remodeled homes. He enjoyed the outdoors, jeeping, fishing, hunting and camping. He always told people that his religion was “outdoorsman.” He enjoyed his friends, a good sense of humor and a cold beer. He lived his life exactly how he wanted and was a unique individual.
There will be a celebration of life at the Moose Lodge in Camino on Eight Mile Road on July 12, at 2 p.m. Please bring your sense of humor and a good story.
